At the end of May and the beginning of June 1940, over 370,000 Allied soldiers found themselves at great risk, surrounded by German forces on all sides & with their backs to the Channel. The eyes of the World fixed their gaze on the small Allied perimeter that remained, around the beaches of Dunkirk. In that critical period, just over a week, everything was in the balance. This documentary provides a day-by-day account of Operation Dynamo and the miraculous evacuation now embedded within British legend. Featuring contributions from Dunkirk veterans and Joshua Levine, a World War Two historian and the official historical adviser for Christopher Nolan's epic 'Dunkirk'.
