There’s so much history to this university city, and in this episode Alice is going to show you a few of the highlights, historic delights which anyone can see for free - secrets hidden in plain sight, if you like. She’ll be weaving between the university buildings, exploring everything from medieval
palaces to the pubs that inspired Tolkien and CS Lewis. There are grand buildings like the Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library and Ashmolean Museum, as well as blue plaques you might not notice, which mark a history of execution and endeavour. This tour encompasses the history of the city from its foundation by Edward the Elder to the modern era.
