Historian Rishi Sharma is a man on a unique mission, a mission to interview every living World War II combat veteran of the allied forces that he can. In the seven years since he left high school Rishi has travelled through every state and across the globe, often sleeping in his car, to film over 2200 interviews with the Greatest Generation.
In this specially commissioned film, we join Rishi on his extraordinary journey, gathering personal oral histories, told by the men that survived the horrors of war. They paint a harrowing and intimate picture of what life was truly like at the ‘bleeding edge’ of the front. But, with the youngest veterans now reaching close to 100 years old, this is a race against time to capture, and preserve, the untold stories of World War II.
