Sir Gawain and the Green Knight was written by an anonymous author in the 14th century. It tells the story of Sir Gawain, a nephew of King Arthur, and one of the Knights of the Round Table at Camelot. Gawain is set on a quest to keep up his side of the bargain struck, and to give up his life freely in doing so.
